Every other vehicle history check in this country is a car product with a motorbike page bolted onto the side.
That is not a criticism of their data, which is largely the same data we use. It is an observation about what happens when a bike is treated as a small car. You get a report with one VIN field, when a bike has a frame number and a separate engine number that both need to match. You get mileage analysis that flags a SORN winter as suspicious, when laying a bike up from October to March is what sensible owners do. You get write-off guidance written around bent wings and airbag deployment, when bikes are written off for cracked fairings and a scuffed engine case.
We only check bikes. That is the whole idea.
Why we started
[YOUR STORY GOES HERE. 200 to 350 words.]
This is the most important section on the page and the only one nobody else can write. What people respond to is a specific thing that happened, not a mission statement. Some prompts:
- The bike that went wrong, or the near miss. What you found, when you found it, and what it would have cost.
- What you were doing before this, and how you came to know the used bike market.
- The moment you looked at the existing options and thought they were built for something else.
- If a friend or family member got caught out, that story, with their permission.
Write it in first person. Keep the numbers real. If you paid £4,200 for a bike with finance owing on it, say £4,200.
What we do
We run history checks on UK-registered motorbikes, scooters, mopeds and trikes, from the registration or the frame number.
The free check returns DVLA and DVSA data: bike details, MOT history, mileage at every test, tax and SORN status. No account and no card.
The full check adds the records that carry financial risk: outstanding finance, police theft markers, insurance write-offs, scrapped and Certificate of Destruction records, keeper history, frame and engine number verification, and a valuation.
Alongside that we publish guides on buying, MOT rules and motorcycle licensing, because a history check answers one part of the question and people arriving here usually have several.
What we will not do
Worth stating plainly, because a fair amount of this market does the opposite.
No subscriptions. One payment for one report. Nothing renews, nothing bills you again, and there is no account to remember to cancel.
No manufactured urgency. We will not tell you that a bike has "issues" you must pay to see. Where the free check finds something, we show you what it found. The paid records are described honestly as records we do not hold on the free tier, on any bike, rather than as a cliffhanger about yours.
No invented reviews. Every review on this site is from a real customer on a named platform, or it is not there.
No claims we cannot evidence. If we quote a statistic, we can point to where it came from. If we offer a guarantee, the terms are published.
Where the data comes from
Our provenance records come from the same industry sources every established UK provider uses. We are straightforward about that because the alternative is pretending otherwise, and anyone who works in the trade knows better.
The stolen, finance and write-off data comes from the same underlying databases whether you pay £4.99 or £19.99. The difference between providers is presentation, interpretation and price. Ours is interpreted for bikes by people who ride them.
Who writes this
[Author Name] writes the guides and the check pages. [One line on their riding and trade background.]
Every guide carries a byline, because you should know who is telling you a bike is safe to buy.
The business
[FILL IN: registered company name, company number, registered address, VAT number if applicable, and the year you started trading.]
This is not decoration. A history check business asking for card details needs to be visibly a real company at a real address, and buyers do check.
